The Flash Season 5: 6 Major Questions We Have For The Second Half

4. Is Cisco Irreparably Damaged?

S.T.A.R. Labs' other brilliant mind has also been receiving quite a bit of spotlight this season, but as far as his well-being is concerned, that may not necessarily be a good thing. Cisco had spent the beginning of the season struggling to deal with his break-up with Gypsy, but after that, things went from bad to worse.

During the team's first confrontation with Cicada, his hands were sliced by the villain's meta-tech-powered dagger. Now, as fans of the show will know, Cisco's hands are his ultimate link to his own metahuman abilities, as he primarily uses them to vibe people, objects, and to open breaches whenever he wishes to. However, since they were injured by the weapon, he hasn't been able to vibe anyone without suffering severe side-effects.

From dizzy spells to nose-bleeds, he hasn't quite managed to heal properly in the episodes that followed. Though he has made some progress, we should bear in mind that he was injured during the season's second episode and yet, as recently as the Arrowverse crossover, he wasn't able to use his abilities without damaging himself further. While this proves that he isn't ready to start using his powers again, it also leaves us wondering if it could spell the end of his days as Vibe.

Whatever happens, the injuries have not yet healed, which means they are necessary to the plot. So you can rest assured that they will continue to play a part as the season progresses.
