The Flash Season 5: 6 Ups & 1 Down From ‘Blocked’
3. Nora West-Allen Learns How To Be A Superhero
Nora West-Allen's arrival has certainly changed things up for The Flash in all the right ways. Her presence once again grounds the show with that much-needed family dynamic that the earlier seasons thrived on, while allowing us to get to see the iconic West-Allen family in action.
Her official introduction in the season premiere may have been a successful family outing for The Flash and XS, but it wasn't without its teething issues. Nora, desperate for her father's approval, couldn't wait to spend time with him and ultimately help him take down some bad guys. However, her excitement led to quite a few missions going awry.
While it seemed like history was destined to repeat itself this week, the writers thankfully addressed this head on by having Barry teach her how to be a superhero. The new arrival may have been less than eager to learn about physics, but she soon understood that her inexperience was costing them on the battlefield. Thus, she heeded Barry's words and, in a nice little twist, she was the one who saved him in the episode's final battle.
This was an important step forward in solidifying the character as a superhero on the show. Furthermore, it was also nice to see that it set the stage for even more West-Allen family bonding. More of that, please.
