The Flash Season 5: 6 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Godspeed'

3. Iris Takes A Stand

The Flash Season 5 Iris West Allen
The CW

Nora West-Allen may be the daughter of the Scarlet Speedster but at various points throughout the season, it was often easy to forget that she was Iris' daughter too. While it was clearly the writers' intentions to highlight Nora's longing for her father, it should never have come at the detriment of Iris' role in the storyline. Unfortunately, there were times that it just didn't feel like she had enough say in the matter when she really should have.

Thankfully, that wrong was righted in 'Godspeed' when, seeing that Barry wasn't interested in reasoning with his daughter, Iris stood up for the time-displaced Nora. She then stormed off in anger, down the hallway of S.T.A.R. Labs and into the pipeline, releasing Nora so that she could fill in the blanks for the remainder of the episode.

This was, no doubt, a classy move by Iris and one that gave Nora the power to tell her own story, highlighting that she can learn from her mistakes (even ones she hasn't made yet).
