The Flash Season 5: 6 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Godspeed'
Downs...
2. One Hit Wonder
Seeing Godspeed on The Flash was indeed a thing of beauty. It was a fulfilling realisation that, after waiting so long, the show had finally given us a live-action adaptation of this iconic DC villain. The only problem is that it was far too short-lived.
Given how quickly Godspeed has tore up DC Comics, and how eagerly anticipated his arrival on the show has been, he had the potential to be a season-long Big Bad. But he turned out to be nothing more than a villain-of-the-week who didn't even show up until long after The Flash had vanished. Unfortunately, this left us all feeling a little short-changed.
It's true that Nora needed a formidable foe to test her (much like Reverse-Flash was Barry's first big test), but this just felt like a complete misfire. There were countless characters who could have played that role in Nora's story, while allowing the writers to save Godspeed for something more lasting.
Godspeed deserved better.
