The Flash may be back on our screens, but that's not the only reason to celebrate the Season 5 premiere. After it spent the last two years lost in its own dark complexities, the writers have gone back to basics and focused on what originally made the show a success - family. As a result, the episode was full of beautiful moments that reminded us why we fell in love with it in the first place.

Nora's arrival brought everyone together and changed their priorities instantly. Suddenly, it didn't matter that they had just defeated one Big Bad or that another was looming, all that mattered was overcoming the odds to protect each other. In doing so, Nora learned how to phase while Barry learned how to lead - and this newfound togetherness ultimately pushed Team Flash to defeat the season's first enemy.

From start to finish, the episode was like a collection of the show's greatest hits so far. It was light-hearted, funny and rather emotional, and in giving us all that, it reminded us just how strong it was during its early years - and with that, it was undoubtedly a return to form for the show.
