The Flash Season 6: 7 Theories On The Identity Of The New Big Bad

3. Godspeed

In spite of some dodgy treatment last season, Godspeed remains atop many fans' lists for who they'd most like to see as a villain on the show.

The character's Arrowverse introduction had been speculated for years but, after the show's pivot away from speedster villains, we all knew it would be a while before he showed up. Unfortunately, instead of waiting patiently like all of us, the show went and introduced Godspeed as a villain-of-the-week instead.

That's right, during the show's trip into Nora West-Allen's future, we discover that the all-white speedster is actually the first villain she ever defeats (with the help of Eobard Thawne).

While Godspeed himself was a sight to behold, the plot let him down big time as, other than the fact that his name was indeed August Heart and that he simply used Zoom's Velocity-9 drug to gain his speed, we learned virtually nothing about him - at least not to the extent we could have if he had been a major character so, given how rich the August Heart character is in the comics, this felt like a missed opportunity.

However, the season finale may have presented the writers with a chance to undo this damage, as with Nora now erased from existence, her timeline no longer exists either - meaning that everything about Godspeed's fate has been changed.

With that in mind, he can and (based on new Season 6 set photos) will return sometime this season. But will he return for another episodic adventure or as the season's main threat?
