The Flash Season 6 Review: 4 Ups & 3 Downs From 'There Will Be Blood'

1. Ralph's Behaviour

The Flash Season 6
The CW

The idea that all members of Team Flash are struggling with the possibility of life without Barry produced some genuinely great moments (all of which we'll get to in due course) but, as the previous entry already revealed, it paved the way for some convenient tropes.

Ralph's attempt to process that grief resulted in him reverting to a one-dimensional jerk with zero drive and even less personality and, to be quite honest, that just gives us Season 4 flashbacks (and nobody wants Season 4 flashbacks).

It's normal for people to act out in times of emotional stress, but this needed more work. Ralph has come on so much since he was, well, that person and, considering the episode didn't provide us with any lead-in (he was just like that in his first appearance in the episode) his behaviour felt off - and not in the way it was supposed to.

He didn't just show a lack of interest in the Sue Dearbon case (the case he had committed so much of his life to as he was determined to rescue this missing woman), he didn't care about it at all... and in spite of how he felt, this just didn't feel authentic.

Now, for the positives...
