The Flash Season 6 Review: 4 Ups & 3 Downs From 'There Will Be Blood'

3. Giving Bloodwork The Focus

It's true that The Flash has been attempting to juggle two huge storylines this season. However, it's also true that it has successfully managed to do so, using each episode to give slightly more attention to one narrative while still making ample time for the other.

The first two episodes of the season understandably devoted most of their attention to the Crisis, but they still allowed some solid building when it came to Ramsey Rosso's transformation into Bloodwork. However, last week's installment saw Ramsey receive the spotlight, as the gang attempted to stop a monster he created, while he and Barry unexpectedly bonded over their impending deaths - again, another clever way of including the Crisis even though it didn't have the main focus.

'There Will Be Blood' successfully built upon that foundation, maintaining the focus on Ramsey's evolution while once again using the storyline to force Team Flash to discuss Barry's upcoming death in the Crisis.

Neither of these storylines are detrimental to the other. In fact, they complement one another incredibly well. But it was time to give the slight priority to Bloodwork, simply because as Crisis On Infinite Earths draws near, the show will have less chances to solidify him as a threat.

They pulled this off at just the right time.
