The Flash Season 6 Review: 5 Ups & 2 Downs From 'So Long And Goodnight'
2. The Performances
If you've been an avid reader of these Flash reviews, you'll know that yours truly doesn't miss an opportunity to praise a good performance when he sees one, and man oh man, were good performances plentiful in this episode.
It's hard to pinpoint who stood out because the vast majority of them were great. Jesse L. Martin showed us multiple sides to Joe through his nuanced performance as the once-determined character realised how far Black Hole was willing to go in order to stop him. Danielle Nicolet turned in perhaps her most powerful performance yet, effortlessly showcasing the emotional dread that Cecile was experiencing. And both Grant Gustin and Candice Patton brought their A-game with powerhouse performances in that final scene.
This cast has an innate ability to make even those aforementioned stakes-less episodes seem super convincing, so seeing them fully unleash what they're capable of when they have material worthy of them is so rewarding.
Like every show, The Flash is the sum of its parts - and this week, those parts were absolutely sensational.
