The Flash Season 6 Review: 7 Ups & 3 Downs From 'Death Of The Speed Force'
3. Subverting Our Expectations
Nash Wells' arc continues to take some unexpected twists and turns as this iteration of the Harrison Wells character clearly isn't destined to have as linear a narrative as some of his predecessors. And with that, the possession of his body by none other than the Reverse-Flash Harrison Wells came as something of a surprise... or at least the timing of it did.
The show has so much going on at the moment, and yet it's still managing to make one of its most intriguing subplots feel like the main event. It also helps that the producers are letting Tom Cavanagh have the time of his life playing all of the previous versions of his character at once.
Eobard Thawne's return changes things drastically. He's different; more gritty and evil than before - and that's very interesting. If the writers continue to progress down this avenue, we could be in for a very compelling character study here.
Either way, he has returned.
