The Handmaid's Tale: 6 Ups And 1 Down From 'Holly'

2. Elisabeth Moss' Award-Worthy Performance

We all know how amazing Elisabeth Moss is. She has proven her capabilities as an actress countless times on the show, and she outdid herself in the second season premiere during the hanging sequence. But, if it's at all possible, the Emmy-winning actress once again proved her worth in Holly, with an outstanding performance that more or less relied on her expressions only.

As the episode had only one storyline, and as June was surviving in the mansion on her own, Moss' character essentially carried the entire episode. It's one thing to be good at what you do when you have other people to act opposite, or when you have to deliver heart-wrenching monologues about loss or death, but Moss was on her own and, apart from voice-over (which would've been added in the post-production stages), she had next to no dialogue, which meant that we had to rely on her facial expressions alone to know what June was going through.

There's no doubt that the celebrated actress will earn herself another Emmy nomination this year, and if Hulu submits this particular episode for consideration, then she's likely going to win again.
