5. Why Did No One Contact Rita About The Package?
The penultimate episode of the first season saw June receive a package from Mayday — the rebel organisation that's fighting back. Although she wasn't supposed to, June opened the package and got a surprise. It wasn't a weapon or anything like that, but a series of emotional letters from oppressed Handmaids, all of whom were begging to be rescued.
June hid the package behind the bathtub, and was told that someone would get in touch with her about what to do with it. However, she was then taken away by the eyes for disobeying Aunt Lydia at the end of the season, so she was unable to complete the Mayday request. But she told Rita where she had hid the package.
Other Women saw Rita return the package to June. June was confused, arguing that someone should've been in contact by now. So, what happened? We later learned that Mayday have gone quiet following June's escape, so perhaps Mayday have thrown in the towel?
