The Handmaid's Tale Season 2 Finale: 7 Ups & 1 Down From 'The Word'

3. The Escape Plan

Considering the amount of last-minute failed escape attempts made by oppressed women, it was about time that a well-orchestrated plan was put in place. We're not entirely sure who arranged the whole thing, or what made the people behind it give it the go ahead at this very moment (although it's likely that it had something to do with either Eden's untimely death or Emily's attack on Lydia), but the plan was pretty fool proof this time around.

The way that women were posted at different areas around Gilead to instruct June where to go next was genius. Additionally, the diversion created by the group of rebellious women was great also, as it was believable that something like a fire would draw everyone's attention. In addition to the plan itself, the pacing during these scenes is really on point, and you really feel June's desire to get her baby to safety coming through. Moss, as always, is excellent here.
