The Mandalorian: 10 Most Insane Fan Theories

5. Anakin Spared Grogu During Order 66

The tenth entry on this list discussed Grogu's experiences with Order 66 and the impact it had on him. Still, this one goes further and humanises the dreaded actions of Anakin Skywalker on that day, if only a little.

According to u/DarthGoodGuy, one possible explanation for Grogu's escape from Coruscant during Order 66 could have come from the hands of the very person performing the atrocities.

The theory suggests that despite killing the younglings, Anakin could not go so far as to kill a baby, instead choosing to spare the young Grogu and possibly freezing him in carbonite to get him away safely. This allegedly explains away his memory loss, as being frozen in carbonite could have caused him to forget what happened after the events that day.

Anakin's inner conflict has always been a significant part of his personality, so it is not entirely out of character for him. However unlikely the theory is, there is a satisfying connotation to the idea of these very unexpected characters meeting in the past.
