The Mandalorian 2.1 Review - 5 Ups And 2 Downs

Mando and The Child are back with a bang in this satisfying second season opener.

The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 1
Lucasfilm / Disney+

The first episode of Season 2 of The Mandalorian dropped this Friday, and it is a doozy in all the right ways. With series creator Jon Favreau back in the director's chair and also handling writing duties, Mando (Pedro Pascal) and The Child (still the cutest) come back with a bang in a mostly satisfying season opener.

Season 2 picks up where the first one left off with Mando searching for his Lovely Green Son's homeworld and people. In order to do this, Din Djarin decides to seek out the help of other Mandalorians, which in this episode brings him back to Tatooine.

It sees the return of a familiar face in Peli Motto (Amy Sedaris), as well as the debut of about twice as many new ones. The end result is that it's more of the same Mando we all know and love, but with an added few wrinkles bound to get Star Wars die hards VERY excited.

There will be FULL AND MAJOR SPOILERS for the episode in this review, so if you haven't watched it yet and don't fancy being spoiled, look away now!
