A weird moment during the Season Two finale is the rather forced tension between Bo-Katan and Din over the Darksaber.

The Darksaber had remained a symbol of the true leader of Mandalore, and was traditionally won during single combat until Mandalore became a more democratic planet. After the Clone Wars, the Darksaber was once again seen as a rallying cry since it was recovered by Sabine Wren following Maul's brief ownership of it.

This ruling of who would be the leader of Mandalore is played fast and loose as Bo-Katan never actually won the saber in the first place. She was handed the saber by Sabine as the latter felt too young to take responsibility. Prior to that, Bo led a rebellion against Maul despite him winning the Darksaber fair and square.

Having Gideon now claim that Din is the rightful heir as he was the one to beat him in combat is a bit of a stretch, but it could be that Bo feels ashamed that she has never truly earned the right to rule.

Whether this results in Din accepting his role and uniting Mandalore, or relinquishing the right to Bo, will be exciting either way.
