The Mandalorian Season 2: 15 Easter Eggs, Secrets & References Explained

Those of you out there who actually read the EU material both before and after the Disney requisition, probably know about the Star Wars Aftermath novels, which centered around a group of rebels hunting down the last Super Star Destroyer, and the Imperial remnants who commanded it. And if you know those books, you probably know about Cobb Vanth.

Cobb Vanth wasn't a main character in these books, however, as the Aftermath trilogy's main gimmick was occasionally interluding the main story with tales of other characters and their little stories throughout the Star Wars universe.

But what you saw in the episode of The Mandalorian that he appeared in - The Marshall - is pretty much everything you need to know about him. He's a former slave that, after getting free, became the lawman of the small Tatooine settlement of Mos Pelgo. Even before meeting Din, he had many adventures and run ins with the various raider gangs and monsters of Tatooine's vast desert.

Hopefully we'll see this desert lawman again, especially since his appearance on The Mandalorian has netted him a much larger fanbase than before.
