But the writing staff behind The Mandalorian did a lot more when they brought back Boba Fett than just returning a one-time fan favorite character to the status of ultimate badass the fandom always gave him - it also snuck in some details about Boba Fett's backstory into main canon.

Those who were deep - and by god do I mean DEEP - into Mandalorian lore before the Disney buyout know that Jango Fett was a foundling adopted by a Mandalorian Journeyman Protector named Jaster Mereel. Jango in turn adopted Boba Fett as his son, making Boba a second generation foundling Mandalorian.

Now, how does the show sneakily reintroduce this backstory to the main canon? Well, like any self respecting fantasy series, Star Wars has its own realistic interpretation of its various races' languages - specifically Mandalorian. So, when Din reads off the chain coded message on Boba's armor in episode six, it actually does translate out to real - if garbled - text. It's here where the information about Jango's heritage is revealed and solidified in canon.
