Another cool entry into the Star Wars canon courtesy of the Filoni-verse was the Darksaber, an ancient Mandalorian relic that is your typical lightsaber, except the blade is pure black. Which makes it like, 25% cooler than most lightsabers on its own.

Beyond the color, however, there isn't much else actually to the darksaber. It's just a lightsaber owned by the Mandalorians, and as such, they attribute a ton of value and meaning to it.

Like a lot of Mandalorian culture and characters, we last saw the darksaber in Filoni's previous endeavor, Star Wars Rebels, where Sabine Wren handed it to Bo-Katan. Why she didn't have to fight Bo-Katan to the death over it like Din apparently has to now is anyone's guess, as is how exactly Bo-Katan lost the darksaber to Moff Gideon to begin with, but that's neither here nor there.

With The Mandalorian ready to set course for their home planet, the darksaber is likely to play a much bigger role than it has previously, seeing as how it is the marker for the true ruler of Mandalore, and that's a big deal to Bo-katan.
