Giancarlo Esposito, the actor who portrays the unhinged ex-Imperial, has promised a more 'volatile' take on series baddie Moff Gideon in Season Two. Given that Gideon's disturbingly psychopathic performance was one of the highlights of the first season's finale and helped seriously ramp up the tension, this can only be a good thing.

After a pretty brutal crash, Moff Gideon was seen crawling out of the wreckage of a TIE fighter, using the Darksaber, the sacred weapon of the Mandalorians, to aid his escape.

The Darksaber has featured heavily in The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels cartoons, and after its shocking and calculated appearance at the end of The Mandalorian's first season it seems fairly certain we'll be seeing more of the blade in the future.

And if the rumours about Ahsoka's character are true, that means we could be getting our first light/darksaber live-action duel very, very soon.
