The Mandalorian Season 2 Trailer Review: 5 Ups & 1 Down

1. More Of Din And The Child

As said in a previous entry, the real focus of The Mandalorian should always be on the bond between Din and The Child. That's the emotional core of the story, it's what drives Din to be a better man instead of a mindless soldier of fortune, and it will make the inevitable separation that the show's building up to between them when he DOES find The Child's people all the more deliciously heart wrenching.

So the trailer dedicating most of its run time to Din and The Child interacting is not only great for keeping focus where it should be, but also is just flat out precious just like in season one. Particularly the moment where Din is surrounded by armed men, lights up his wrist rocket launcher in clear view of The Child, telling it to get down, and The Child only needing one look at its daddy's wrist to know that it's time to hide.

As long as the story remains squarely focused on the bond that these two lost souls share with one another, this show will do just fine.

This is the way.
