The Mandalorian Series 1 Review: 7 Ups And 2 Downs
4. There's A Terrific Array Of Directorial Talent
While you may not know the names Deborah Chow and Rick Famiyuwa, you'll feel an immediate need to see more of their work once you see their episodes on The Mandalorian. Nearly every episode of show is led by a different director and you really grow to appreciate the variety of talent put on display.
No matter what episode you're watching, there's a clear sense of authority and perspective throughout every episode's runtime. They successfully buck the trend of most TV shows lacking personality behind the camera.
The trend of allowing numerous directors to take their crack at a Star Wars project is an excellent one that The Mandalorian is perfectly suited for. Here's hoping that next season serves as another proving ground for underrated filmmakers to show off their skills. Oh, and one other fact Star Wars will be happy to hear is that Deborah Chow, the director of the excellent Chapter 3 and 7 episodes, is in charge of the Obi-Wan Disney+ series. Yeah, time to get excited.
