The Office: 10 Best Episodes Set Outside Of Dunder Mifflin

7. The Dundies (S2E1)

The Office Beach Games
NBC

Season one of The Office is generally considered to be among the weakest the show has ever put out, even taking into consideration the two years after Michael Scott left Dunder Mifflin. However, season two was immediately different, as it opened with an episode far better than anything that had come before it.

The Dundies for the first time took the Dunder Mifflin workers out of their natural environment and into Chillies, for the annual titular award show. This was Michael Scott at his very best, and also his very worst.

Initially without a care for anyone else in the restaurant, Michael set up a PA system to MC the night, with his typical brand of painfully awkward comedy, blaming any and all difficulties on Dwight, and acting as if he was Bob Hope just coming off the stage in Afghanistan.

However, it was actually Pam that stole this particular show. Without Roy there to hold her back, she was able to let loose and actually have some fun for once, and when Michael was heckled off the stage, she rallied the Dunder Mifflin family around him. It was heart warming and hilarious.
