The Office: 10 Best Episodes Set Outside Of Dunder Mifflin

4. Beach Games (S3E22)

The Office Beach Games
NBC

Just like he did on the booze cruise the year before, Michael Scott took a day at the beach and made it about work. After being offered an interview for a job at Corporate, Michael assumed that he would automatically get it, and used the beach trip to search for his replacement recommendation.

Of course, this was based around the things Michael thinks are important for a manager, so in reality, it actually had very little to do with work. Instead, they had a hot dog eating contest, a sumo wrestling match, and a joke telling round.

The Office dynamic was on full display even outside of Dunder Mifflin, with Dwight, Jim, Andy, and Stanley all vying for Michael's job whether they wanted it or not.

Once again however, Pam stole the show. This time, she finally stood up for herself for the first time in the series. When no one else would do the hot coal walk, she took it on despite being scared, which gave her the confidence to tell off everyone else for not coming to her art show, and especially Jim for not being friends with her anymore after she cancelled her wedding because of him. This was the biggest leap in Pam's character, and she was just awesome.
