The Office: 10 Best Episodes Set Outside Of Dunder Mifflin
5. Company Picnic (S5E26)
Why, why, why, if this is an annual company picnic, did the creators of The Office wait until season five to show one, and why did they stop at just one? Like the Treehouse of Horror is a highlight of every Simpsons season, the Company Picnic could have brightened The Office every year.
This episode had so much to enjoy, and wonderfully balanced the show's humour, awkwardness, and weirdness in a way that many others didn't. It all started with the volleyball game, Dwight's intense leadership, and the constant battle with corporate on the pitch.
It then moved over to the reunion of Michael and his female counterpart, Holly. When these two come together it's essentially like there are two Michael Scotts in the world, and it is as cringey and as wonderful as you would imagine. No one else could reveal devastating company secrets to everyone in a sketch as painful to watch as Slumdunder Mifflinaire.
The absolute best part of the episode however comes at the very end with one of the most emotional and heart warming moments in Office history. Jim and Pam went to the hospital to get her ankle checked, but instead they left expecting a new addition to the family. That image of John Krasinski with his hand through his hair and tears in his eyes is nothing short of iconic.
