The Office: 10 Characters You Totally Forgot Existed
2. Fred Henry
Will Arnett is precisely the kind of performer you'd expect to make a guest appearance in The Office. He has become sitcom royalty thanks to his significant supporting role in Arrested Development and a slew of notable appearances in shows like Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, The Millers and more, not to mention his fantastic performance as the eponymous horse in Bojack Horseman.
Unfortunately for Arnett, his all but too brief part in The Office suffered from being surrounded by other major cameos. He only appeared in the episode "Search Committee" as one of the applicants for the role of regional manager, and not only did he fail to get the job, but ended up being quickly forgotten by the show. Arnett brought his typical arrogant humour to the part but suffered due to the other candidates for the position.
While Arnett is undoubtedly a big name, the other applicants were either more prominent stars or got the chance to return to the show and become more memorable. He had to contend with Catherine Tate's Nellie and James Spader's Robert California, who both became recurring characters, and huge comedians like Ray Romano and Jim Carrey, whose surprise appearances turned a lot of heads.
Poor Arnett was an unfortunate victim of forgettable circumstance.
