The Office: 10 Most Hated Characters

3. Roy Anderson

The Office Jan
NBC

If Karen is hated because she stood in the way of Pam and Jim getting together, then Roy is utterly despised. He was Pam's fiancé to begin the series, and was clearly not as good a fit for her as Jim would have been, but unlike Karen, his personality also contributed greatly to why people disliked him.

He was incredibly possessive of Pam for starters. He didn't like her talking to Jim despite the fact that they were two friends innocently working together, and when she wanted to go for drinks he wouldn't let her. He never seemed to care about his relationship with Pam, and even though they were engaged, he had no intention of actually getting married for over three years.

Even after he and Pam were finished, he still managed to show what an awful person he was. He and his brother trashed Poor Richard's when he found out about Jim kissing her before they had broken up, and he would have beat him up in a fit of rage had Dwight not been on stand-by with his mace spray.

What makes Roy even worse is how much better he treated Laura than Pam. He clearly had it in him to be a good boyfriend and husband, and if he had simply made an effort with his first fiancé he could have made her happy. He just didn't care enough.
