The Office: 10 Reasons It's The Funniest Show On TV

6. Great Writers

the office 9x12 We already know the cast is solid, talented, funny and works well together, but that€™s only half the battle. Without a story the cast would be nothing more than bodies on a set, and in order to get a story you need writers. The Office has those, so does every show on TV, but The Office€™s writers are really good, and we€™re talking REALLY good. NBC has stacked the writer€™s room with the cream of the comedy crop, pros who have scribed stories for The Simpsons, King of the Hill, Mr. Show, and Colbert Report just to name a few. These unsung heroes are the ones tirelessly working behind the scenes to make it all happen, and for nine years they€™ve done an incredible job. If not for them there€™d be nothing, no beat farm, no love triangles, no racially insensitive remarks. It€™s easy to over look the writers, we rarely hear about them, or see them on a talk show, but if anyone deserves praise it€™s without a doubt the writers. Without whom the world would come to a screeching halt, maybe that€™s a bit much, but without them there€™d be no show so before moving on through this list take a moment and thank the hardworking writers of The Office who craft the stories that pull on our heart strings and tickle our funny bones week after week.
