The Office: 10 Weirdest Things Found In Dunder Mifflin

7. Michael's Fake Thumb

"I put a cigarette through a freaking quarter. And you know what, Toby? They ALMOST brought from us!"

Season 2's The Secret revolves around Jim's desperate attempts to spend time with Michael, in order to prevent the latter from blabbing about his feelings for Pam to the rest of the office. The episode also happens to feature a minor, yet utterly bizarre detail that even the most eagle-eyed viewers may have missed. In addition to styling his hair in his best impression of Jim, Michael is shown to be wearing a fake thumb in one of the interview segments.

This peculiar feature would be inexplicable but for the hilarious background context provided by Michael and his least favorite human being. Following an unapproved trip to Hooters, Toby reveals that the regional manager has only just had his corporate credit card returned to him - Dunder Mifflin's HR representative had previously confiscated it after Michael spent $80 at a magic shop to "entertain clients".

This ultimately makes Steve Carell's passionate defense of his ridiculous purchase all the more side-splitting once you spot his magician's fake thumb - once you see it, you can't unsee it. Michael's phoney digit remains one of The Office's weirdest - and more chuckle-worthy - winks at the audience to this day.
