The Office: 12 Most Cringeworthy Scenes

There are a lot of ways any proposal can go. Of course, the hope is that the answer is yes, which can take many forms. The speechless crying, the clichéd "yes, yes, one thousand times yes", are all perfectly fine, but no one ever dreamed of popping the question to be met with a simple "okay" from their partner.

This is all Andy Bernard was given by his ever cold and unaffectionate girlfriend Angela Martin. Though it was completely within her character, this didn't make it any easier to watch.

Just about everyone can agree that Andy and Angela were one of, if not the worst couple in the history of the show. They didn't belong together, she was cheating on him with Dwight the entire time, and she never even pretended like she was interested in him. The entire relationship consisted of fans screaming at the TV, telling Andy to get rid of her.

Yet, he proposed to Angela all the same, in front of everyone at Toby's leaving party. The pain of watching the most unenthusiastic acceptance ever, and Andy's complete ignorance of it, is something Office fans will never forget. All this without even mentioning that this should have, and would have been Pam and Jim's big night had Andy not stolen their thunder.
