The Office: 12 Most Cringeworthy Scenes
10. Date Mike
At his heart, though he loved being a manager and a salesman, Michael Scott was a performer. He loved his improv classes, wrote, directed, and starred in Threat Level Midnight, and created several different versions of himself. From Prison Mike to Michael Klump they were all different, but one of the worst was Date Mike.
When the office went to the bar for drinks, Pam and Jim set up a pool game with Michael and Julie, as something of an informal date. Things were going surprisingly well when Michael didn't know he was on a date, but when he realised, everything went wrong.
Completely ignoring the chemistry he had with Julie just from being himself, he ran to his car to get his Kangol hat, and transformed into a character that, for some reason, he thought would be good on a date. Needless to say, Date Mike completely scared his actual date off.
He became an unapologetic douchebag, who tried to be cool by spinning the pool cue around, climbed on the table and acted out like a child against the manager of the bar. Somehow this worked on Donna, but Michael completely ruined his chances with Julie, who would have been a much better fit for him than the already married bar manager.
