The Simpsons: 10 Awesome Things You Forgot Ever Happened
1. Homer Becomes Krusty - Homie The Clown (s6e15)
Despite the fact Homer is depicted as a lazy worker, nobody in Springfield has been employed more than him. In the first 400 episodes, Homer has had at least 188 professions.
However, it was Homer's time as a Krusty look-a-like that brought viewers the most laughs. According to the storyline writer, John Swartzwelder, a lot of the Simpson crew didn't think much of the plot at the table-read. Fortunately, David Silverman thought it was a hilarious premise, and agreed to direct the episode, which became Homie the Clown.
Silverman enjoyed how the episode turned out so much, he actually used it as inspiration while directing The Simpsons Movie. Although storylines tend to go through drastic rewrites, almost nothing in the script was changed.
And thank the heavens the script remained pretty much the same since Homie the Clown is comedy at its finest. Watching Homer's clown hallucinations, mini-trike attempts, or him beating up the Krusty Burglar are among the best moments in the entire show. Not only is this among the The Simpsons' best episodes, but Dan Castellaneta, who provides the voice of Homer and Krusty, has never been funnier.
