The Simpsons: 10 Best Martin Prince Moments

6. Buying Radioactive Man

Three Men And A Comic Book often gets forgotten for essentially the opposite reason as Dial N For Nerder. Coming way back in Season 2 in 1991, the episode offers one of the earliest examples of Martin’s characterisation beyond being ‘the smart one’.

The fact it came out two weeks after the legendary episode Lisa’s Substitute doesn’t really help it stick in people's heads, though.

However, had it come in the Golden Era, it’s likely they would have thrown Nelson in there instead of Martin, so it’s a good thing this one did come early. It just wouldn’t be the same without the loveable nerd.

The three kids can’t afford the $100 comic, so have to go in on it together. Struggling with who should own it, they agree on a daily rota through the week, but decide to spend the first night sharing it, out of a mutual distrust.

Staying in Bart’s treehouse, tempers spill over and Martin ends up tied to a chair. He maintains his typical innocence through the whole ordeal too, which only makes him more endearing.
