The Simpsons: 10 Best Parody Episodes
7. Two Dozen And One Greyhounds
Movie parody: 101 Dalmatians (1961)
What do Cruella De Vil and Charles Montgomery Burns have in common? They're skinny, wealthy people who will stop at nothing to get what they want and children better beware of them. Oh, and both of them would gladly have dozens of puppies skinned if it meant getting themselves a fashionable coat.
Two Dozen And One Greyhounds sees the family dog - Santa's Little Helper - fall in love with a fellow Greyhound racer named She's the Fastest. After developing a romance, She's the Fastest gives birth to fifteen puppies, much to the Simpson family's surprise.
The new puppies are put up for sale and after Mr Burns has his offer rejected, he unlawfully dognaps them, leaving Bart and Lisa to find out what his intentions are.
This episode also features a show-stopping musical number, based on a song from another Disney film - Beauty and the Beast. "See my Vest" captures the Busby Berkeley style of the original and Mr Burns totally sells the number with his natural sense of showmanship and panache.
