The Simpsons: 10 Major Plot-Holes Everyone Ignores

3. Homer's Hair Loss

Homer’s baldness is a key part of his character design, but there’s been four separate reasons given by the show for why he’s actually bald. You could argue that they’re all factors which work together, but them some of them don’t even make much sense on their own.

The most well known reason, thanks to its superb animation and transformation into a reaction gif, is that Homer ripped his hair out when he found out Marge was pregnant. Though this is the most outlandish, it’s also one which makes the most sense. Added to the military experiment with side effects of hair loss (another reason offered), these two could even work in sync with each other.

The experiment could have weakened his follicles to the point they could be pulled out. The only issue with this is, Homer appears to have less hair in the experiment than he did when he began pulling his hair out.

The first ever reason offered was baldness being hereditary, but then Abe still has quite thick hair. Maybe it skipped a generation.

The radiation from the plant has also been mentioned, though this hasn’t impacted Lenny, Carl or even Burns himself. Seems unlikely then.
