For instance, the religious cult that brainwashes the family in The Joy Of Sect is guarded by a big white ball that roars - just like Rover from The Prisoner. An even better one occurs in The Computer Wore Menace Shoes when Homer finds himself on The Island where he is stripped of his identity and given a number - in a complete lifting from The Prisoner. Somehow, they even got the show's star Patrick McGoohan to feature in an extended cameo as Number Six (the only time he ever returned to the role, fact fans). In it, Homer brilliantly realises that Rover is the worst guard ever, as he just pops it with a fork.
