The Simpsons: 15 Best Ever TV Show Parodies & Homages

13. Behind The Music

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyZs3EJgx8Q Seen in: Behind The Laughter (Season 11 Episode 22) One of the show's most metafictional moments came in Behind The Laughter, an episode that spoofed Behind The Music, the documentary series charting the rise and fall of famous musicians. The episode treats the Simpsons as if they are actors, detailing the troubles behind the scenes - for instance, Bart's stint in rehab, Homer's addiction to painkillers and the revelation that Lisa was secretly given anti-growth hormones. It could have jumped the shark but actually it is a sharp and funny take on the cliches of shows like Behind The Music. For authenticity it even has the show's narrator, Jim Forbes. It's hard not to wish that they had made a spin-off series of these fake exposés of cartoon characters. The world needs to know the truth about Huckleberry Hound...
