The Simpsons: 15 Best Treehouse Of Horror Segments - Ranked
1. The Raven
This segment was the first Treehouse of Horror finale, and therefore carried a pressure like no other. Here we are given a hilarious new take on Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven, which allowed the writers of the episode to explore so many things.
Firstly, it is a fantastic example of the relationship between Homer and Bart seen from a new angle. The main character of the story is driven to madness by the raven, which is mirrored to perfection by Bart's daily effect on Homer.
Then we have Bart's commentary on Lisa's storytelling, which echoes the thoughts of the entire generation, in that these old stories from years and years ago aren't scary anymore, classic though they may be.
Finally, James Earl Jones as the narrator adds a fitting class and elegance to The Raven that no one else could match.
