The Simpsons: 15 Celebrity Appearances You Might Have Missed
11. Elizabeth Taylor
Episode: Lisa's First Word (Season 4) The Simpson's has some dark moments. You may not have realised how many double-meanings and implied jokes are crammed into some episodes when you first watched it as a child, but this certainly wasn't one of those instances. No, this will probably go down as one of the most adorable moments in Springfield history, as Maggie utters her first word, without anybody there to hear it. "Daddy". That's it. Any one of the voice actors could have recorded it, in any voice they thought would be most appropriate, but instead they called in Elizabeth Taylor for the shortest voice acting cameo possible. The star of Cleopatra, and arguably one of Hollywood's finest actresses, apparently had to record her part numerous times until the producers were happy. Imagine being the guy who had to make a world famous actor repeat one single word over and over? Pressure. But in the end, it provided a beautiful moment right before the credits.
