Season 11 While visiting an Indian casino (tempting Marge's gambling addiction), Bart gets a glimpse into his depressing future in "Bart to the Future" - an episode suggested by Entertainment Weekly as the very worst of the series back in 2003. "Bart to the Future" has problems, to be sure, but it's less about being bad as it is about being mediocre. In the show, America has a female president - Lisa. Bart's playing in a terrible bar band with Ralph, and "smell you later" has inexplicably replaced "goodbye" as the English speaking world's farewell of choice. While there's the odd chuckle, watching Bart go from bratty ten year old to complete loser wasn't funny, just sad. The episode relegated Homer to a sub-plot as well, and just about the only thing it got right was the rise to prominence of China and other nations in the global economy - though when this episode aired that was already a given (actually, bonus points for the Indian casino inserting an advertisement in Bart's vision).
