The Simpsons: 5 Things You Might’ve Missed In The Past Five Years

2. They’ve Done A Lego Episode And A Game Of Thrones Episode

The Simpsons are no stranger to doing episode long sendups, pulling of the likes of Goodfellas and Pulp Fiction in their early years. Like almost everything about modern Simpsons, there have been some missteps along the way to the newer ones. The Great Phastby (a play on Gatsby, if you hadn't guessed) is certainly not a highlight, but Brick Like Me definitely is. In it, writer Brian Kelley claims the only two characters not Lego-ised are 'Senor Ding-Dong and the Grumple'. While that isn't quite true, you'd have to have a very obscure favourite not to see it feature here.

The plot bears an unfortunate similarity to The Lego Movie, but this seems to be the result of two completely different writing teams playing with the same toys and making the same thing, and certainly should not detract from your viewing pleasure.

Meanwhile, season 29 premiere The Serfsons takes place in an alternate Springfield, where Lisa hides her ability to wield magic, Marge's mother is attacked by an ice walker and King Quimby leads a sect of evil wizards, and a dragon for good measure. Absolutely none of it is canon, but absolutely all of it is brilliant fun.
