The truth is, if Lisa weren't a Simpson, then her position on this list would be even lower. That's saying a lot seeing as she doesn't even break into the upper half of this hierarchy.

There is a fair amount of merit to Lisa, such as her intelligence, some emotional moments (like the climax of "Lisa's Substitute") and her importance to the plot. Despite this, it can be really hard to root for her at times as her grating voice and activist personality can be irritating.

Having politically active characters is often a really good thing, as shows can explore some great messages. The issue with Lisa is that she is quite a know-it-all, despite only being a child. Proving that the adults of Springfield are all dumber than a kid has cause for humour, but Lisa doesn't always take advantage of that as she is simply too annoying.
