The Simpsons: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best
13. Season 1
After a couple years as a side-piece in The Tracy Ullman Show, The Simpsons didn't disappoint with the first season of their own series. With its striking characters, simple animation style and controversial themes, the animated sitcom instantly struck a chord with audiences.
"Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire," "Homer's Night Out" and "Bart the Genius" all work wonders to set-up a show bursting with potential, and one already willing to challenge itself.
Sure, the first season isn't quite as surreal and madcap as the show would become, but the writing is so strong, the stories so funny and sweet, that there's no denying it still lives up to its place as a landmark in TV history.
