The Simpsons: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best

In The Simpsons' 25th season, the writers take shots at everything from politics to technology and competitive eating to time travel. There's a lot there, but the whole season feels a bit safe, as though the writers are playing with kid gloves and not fully prepared to dig into the topics they bring up.

This distancing from controversy is rare for The Simpsons, and though there are sparks of genius when Homer starts illegally pirating movies and later becomes a World Cup referee, season 25 is never able to make up for its constant recycling of old jokes and been-there-done-that storylines.

Comic Book Guy falls in love, Bart wins a race by cheating, and Homer has a change in personality - all solid and occasionally fun outings, all tried and tested and a bit too safe.
