The Simpsons: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best
24. Season 30
Including The Simpsons' landmark 650th episode, season 30 features an interesting assessment of religion after Bart gets into an accident, a timely mockery of self-drive cars, Bart's annoyance at an all-female reboot of Itchy & Scratchy, and an epic feud between Homer and Krusty the Clown.
This season takes some big steps towards capturing what made the show so confrontational and fresh when it first broke out, and for the most part tackles its subject matter with sharp humour.
It's still far from perfect, mind. "D'oh Canada" and "Werking Mom" fall short of the mark, with the themes being woefully mishandled. Some of the other episodes also end up feeling like recycled classics, with nothing new to say, and despite the season's surprisingly decent high points, it ends up being a mostly weak affair.
