The Simpsons: Every Sideshow Bob Episode Ranked Worst To Best

1. Cape Feare (Season 5, Episode 2)

The Simpsons Cape Feare
20th Television

Where do you even start to explore the brilliance of Cape Feare, Sideshow Bob's (and perhaps The Simpsons') best episode?

Free from jail and desperate to kill Bart for putting him there, this ingenious comedy masterclass throws the Simpson family into the witness relocation program and follows Bob as he tirelessly hunts them down.

A brilliant riff on Cape Fear, the episode is one of endless one-liners and iconic slapstick, from Bob stepping on a dozen rakes in thirty seconds, Homer showing Bart his hockey mask and chainsaw, to Kelsey Grammer having the time of his life singing the score of the opera H.M.S Pinafore.

Breathlessly paced and never wasting a second to fill the screen with a classic one-liner or two, Cape Feare isn't just the greatest Sideshow Bob episode, but also a strong contender for the crowning achievement of the entire series.
