When it comes to some of the Bart-centric episodes of The Simpsons that have come out over the years, anyone would be remiss not to mention Barthood as one of the best.
There are better Bart episodes out there, but Barthood was still clever enough to leave a significant impact and help prove that post-season twenty Simpsons episodes can still be exceptional.
It's one of the most down-to-earth episodes in regards to its portrayal of Bart's dubious relationship with Homer and Lisa. What's more is that of all the future episodes that prominently feature Bart, this one genuinely comes off as one of the most accurate in terms of the direction his life is likely to take as he gets older. This includes not shying away from addressing some harsh realities.
Yes, most of the other characters do fall by the wayside, but at the end of the day, Barthood is still a touching episode that stands as a testament to everything the character is supposed to represent.
