An inspiration to young women everywhere, Lisa Simpson was easily the smartest character on The Simpsons. She cared about the wider world outside of Springfield and tried to live her life with integrity and great intellect and would always stand up for what she believed in.
Lisa Simpson is in every episode of The Simpsons alongside her mother Marge Simpson, only two episodes of which does Lisa not say any line of dialogue. Interestingly, the actress who voices Lisa is Yeardley Smith who famously would only voice the character of Lisa Simpson and not any other main character from Springfield.
Perhaps that’s why Lisa feels so unique and memorable. She’s an outsider who moves to the beat of her own drum and is quite unlike any of her peers. In 2018, The Simpsons creator Matt Groening even admitted that Lisa Simpson was his favourite character from the show as he believed her to be one who would eventually grow up to leave Springfield for adventuring the globe.
