The Streaming Services Your Favourite TV Shows Are Heading To
6. The Office, Brooklyn Nine-Nine & Parks & Rec
Hulu's big names are pretty big because of the nature of the platform's formation - it was originally a joint-venture that brought together companies including Fox, NBC and Disney. But the announcement of NBCU's Peacock service, which has the worst name of all of the streaming services (fair play) changes things again.
It was only a matter of time before the company did something for its own big shows and movies, given they're one of the biggest companies not yet bought by Disney, and they have big plans for the service.
Not only will Parks & Rec be moving from Netflix over to Peacock, but ongoing shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine will also stream on there, having most recently been on Hulu. And on top of that, the company is looking to reboot major shows to add a bit of fanfare to the launch, including Battlestar Galactica, Saved By The Bell and most intriguingly The Office. They say it's "their aim" to reboot the latter, presumably with a new cast.
Peacock means existing seasons of The Office will likely also appear on the service and it's not the only classic show heading there. The launch will bring 30 Rock, Cheers, Everybody Loves Raymond, Frasier, Saturday Night Live, Will and Grace, King Of Queens’ and Married With Children. All the favourites.
