The Umbrella Academy: Ranking Every Character Worst To Best

7. Grace

If you love the Stepford Wives (not the remake, it wasn't very good, to be honest), you'll recognise the cheery, Tim Burton-ised idealised picture of motherhood from the 1950s in Grace.

She might be a robot (and one who is retired for some of the show after she's wrongly implicated in Sir Reginald's death), but there's humour in her interactions with the kids and she's genuinely warm and loving (like a robo-Mary Poppins, which is exactly the point).

The performance behind the cyborg by Jordan Claire Robbins is both perfectly alien and hauntingly human (a little like the way Paul Bettany initially approached Vision), with a mix of naivety and a deep-lying secret that ends up being very important. If this were Star Wars, she and Pogo would basically be C-3PO and R2-D2.
